WANA (Nov 14) – The Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said, “Tomorrow, we will have a very important stage of my trip to Iran, as I intend to visit key facilities at Fordow and Natanz. This will help me gain a complete picture of the progress of Iran’s nuclear program.”

On the morning of Thursday, November 24, Rafael Grossi met and held talks with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister.

After the discussions, the IAEA Director-General responded to a question about why the Agency has not yet taken any serious stance regarding threats from Israeli officials about attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities. Grossi stated, “Today’s talks with Mr. Araghchi included discussions on issues like these, and we are seeking solutions to address them.”

He added, “Tensions are increasing in various parts of the world, not just limited to West Asia. What matters is that those who seek peace work together.”

Grossi emphasized, “I have come here first to listen, and then to see if I can contribute to reducing these tensions.”

The Director-General outlined the agenda for his visit to Tehran, explaining, “This is a significant trip, beginning with a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister. Now, we plan to focus on more technical aspects. During this trip, I will meet again with Iran’s Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization, Mr. Eslami, where we will attempt to discuss further technical details.”

I recall exchanging messages with him when he first assumed office, congratulating him on his new role and expressing my interest in meeting him. I also discussed this with some ministers in New York, so I look forward to this meeting eagerly later this afternoon.”

Grossi also announced, “Tomorrow, we will reach a very important stage of this trip, as I plan to visit key facilities at Fordow and Natanz, which will help me obtain a comprehensive view of Iran’s nuclear program development.”
